Williams Plating Company, Inc. strives to offer services that allow our customers to meet their environmental objectives. We certify the majority of our finishes to be in compliance with RoHS I Directive 2002/95/EC and RoHS II Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS recast).
We do offer Tin-Lead finishes not in compliance with RoHS at the request of our customers, but maintain process controls to prevent contamination and maintain RoHS compliance in the remaining finishes. We accomplish this by:

REACH stands for the Regulation for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals. The REACH Regulation entered into force on 1st June 2007 to streamline and improve the former legislative framework for chemicals of the European Union (EU). REACH also created the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) which has a central co-ordination and implementation role in the overall process. ECHA is located in Helsinki, Finland and manages the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction processes for chemical substances to ensure consistency across the countries in which REACH applies.
Williams Plating Company, Inc. offers REACH Compliant certification for most services. WPC does provide Tin-Lead plating, making this the only coating present in our final product containing any of the 235 restricted substances.

All applicable minerals for metal finishing at Williams Plating Company, Inc. are sourced from conflict-free smelters. Conflict-Free Smelters are certified by the Conflict-Free Smelter Program through the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI, formerly CFSI). All orders are inspected, tested, and certified to meet or exceed the standards required by our customers. Certificates of Conformance and Certificates of Analysis are returned to customers with each order identifying inspection test results that verify order processing meets or exceeds customer specifications. X-ray Fluorescence certification for thickness analysis, or inspection records identify process specifications and confirmation of order inspection.
All orders are inspected in the Quality Control Laboratory. Williams Plating Company, Inc. uses the MIL STD 105E, AQL 1.5 sampling standard for inspection purposes. Documentation of certification is provided for all orders processed at Williams Plating Company, Inc. and includes visual inspection of all orders, and plating adhesion and thickness testing for plated orders. Our Quality Control testing verifies that all material returning to our customers meets or exceeds the required specifications or standards. Our wet lab is equipped with an Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy machine for complete analytical control of all process solutions. This analysis provides us with superior process control to maximize the consistency and quality of our products. The wet lab processes regularly scheduled chemical sampling and includes a complete chemical sampling laboratory to maintain and monitor chemical bath composition. We use select off-site chemical laboratories to supplement our in-house chemical testing to ensure a high level of process control in our operations.
Each purchase order processed by WPC is traceable from receipt – and during all stages of production – to shipping. Our procedures manage for traceability of each shipment, order, lot, or individual product throughout the facility, and through documentation before and after leaving the facility. Our specialization in small-batch processing necessitates complete lot control through the use of travelers, reference tags, purchase orders, and processing work instructions. We maintain the highest level of lot control at all points in time through the rigorous application of document control.
